SWEET TENDER HOOLIGAN

MAKING MORE WAVES FESTIVAL

‘Every hooligan has a heart. Every heart hides a war.’

Bo knows the tunnels and the people who use them. He knows the dangers and risks they pose. When Gadoa arrives, he's just another immigrant, another transporter for the gang's activity. But Gadoa brings his own defiance, and with it shakes up Bo's world.

In and out of care, Bo hustles to survive; he’s learned to keep quiet and move fast. Gadoa’s running from a civil war; Bo’s running from the one inside his home. Both end up under Mush, the man who runs the tunnels, the jobs, and everyone in between.

Then there’s Crystal, Bo’s childhood sweetheart, trapped with Mush and torn between fear and love. She wants out. So does Bo. But nothing’s simple when Mush is in control. As the jobs get riskier, loyalty, survival, and love blur. They’re not bad people, just caught in a place where bad choices are the only ones left.

A short play exploring themes of immigration, choices, and surprising connections.
